Meryl Streep tells the story of Deborah Sampson, the first woman in history to take a bullet for her country…amazing how this story isn’t told in classes throughout the nation & that her name isn’t known.
Deborah Sampson was a badass. Al Yong wrote her biography, its titled Masquerade: The Life and Times of Deborah Sampson, Continental Soldier.
What a great human being and a great story. Looking forward to this being built.
Also, I think that Merly Streep, Ellen and Betty White should be added to a list of people who aren’t allowed to die.
Just saying. We need them to stick around for quite a while.
